Journey through the desert
The team set of to Balabar-Dar via a series of wells. On day 5 Mua'Dib made a mistake an the gang did not reach a water-hole. Lamya talked to the local fauna, and since they did not know the whereabouts of a well it was decided that they would sleep in the desert. Efrael saw something that might be a well in the horizon. In the morning Lamya summoned a desert eagle, and convinced it to show them the way to the next well. Mua'Dib noticed that this was the sixth well, and that they had skipped one, and had thus not lost any time. The next evening they reached Balabar-Dar.
The city of Balabar-Dar
At the gate the were directed to the Caravan grounds. Good thing that Efrael has lived in a city most of his life, otherwise the whole group would have gotten lost... The caravan hall was managed by an ugly, fat and greasy man with almost no interest in the caravaneers. He charged 2 half moons (silver coins) for the night.
Late night action
The group decided to have guards, but alas one (who?) fell asleep during his shift. Efrael (the eternal light sleeper) woke up to the noise of two thieves, as they were riffling through the bags. They noticed being noticed and made a run for it. Most of the party was up and giving chase in a few moments. One of the thieves tried to jump a fence, but failed, he fell flat on his face. Ali was constantly gaining on the elusive thief, but he seemed to be preetty fast. Mua'Dib tried to circle around the thief, but the thief managed to just slip outside. (The greasy fat man at the door was nowhere to be found) Ali and Mua'Dib chased the thief untill he ran into a shed. In the mean time Efrael cast a spell on the thief that stumbled. The poor thief was surrounded by what seemd to be threads of black mist. The mist absorbed into him and he was unable to move, his muscles ached as if he had taken a severe beating. At this point Shamir towered over him. Efrael cast flying spell. The other caravaners gaped as some whispering black cloud carried Efrael away. Shamir saw that this poor this was of no threat to anyone, so he resumed the chase. A few moments later Lamya started to interrogate / intimidate the thief.
The thief hideout
When Ali and Mua'Dib entered the shed the thief had vanished. They searched and serched, and were about to give up when Efrael entered. With renewed confidence Ali, Efrael and Mua'Dib managed to find a hidden trapdoor with a passage leading doen. Efrel conjoured a ball of light, and they crwled down the passage Shamir (having followed Efrael's black mist) sneaked into the shed. He saw the open trapdoor and the receeding light. Shamir managed to catch up with the rest of the group when they exited the tunnel into a small room filled with all kinds of junk. While rummaging around the junk Efrael noticed that the large cabinet was hiding a hole or something like that. Shamir moved the cabinet easily to the side and behind it was a door. Shamir didn't detect any traps so he opened the door. A crossbow had been rigged to shhot at anyone entering, but someone had fouled up and the shot hit the doorframe. Ali quickly snatched the bolt and the crossbow, and the extra bolts, since he only had his faranj with him... The group contunued at a carefull sneak out of the room, and they found some footprints in the dust. A side chaber which was empty was quickly glanced into.
Ali, Efrael, Muad'Dib and Shamir exited through the other doorway they were attacked by an arrow fired by some thugs on the otherside of a large roomThe room floor was some 10 meters below, and a pile of rubble. There was a rope tied to the exit and the other end was tied to where the thugs were. Using variable attack paths (Ali fired the Heavy crossbow; Shamir climbed down the rope; Efrael flew around scaring; Mua'Dib used stealth and speed) the party was able to kill one thief (Mua'Dib) and the other went running for his life. Just then they heard barkin on the balcony, and lo and behold there was Lamya with her Fennec fox. Lamya had scared the captured thief to show the hideout to her.
After getting Lamya across (with fox) the party crept onwards. (The fallen thief did not have their money). The stairs led to a narrow and dark passage. Ali was unlucky ennough to walk on the wrong side of the corridor... he stepped on a trap that sent him sliding down a tunnel. Ali had a bad landing and hurt his rump. Ali sensed that he was not alone, but before he could react a wolf lept at him. The hit was not to bad. Ali was still clutching his loaded crossbow, so he decided to try to shoot it, but alas he missed! The wolf lept and bit ali in the arm, almost biting it off. Ali fell unconcious and would have been dinner if Lamya hadn't come down to help Ali up. She quickly dominated the wolf and made it stand down. Looking around she found a door to a lrger room. She sent the wolf there. The wolf discovered a narrow passage leading out. Ali was fished out of the hole and Shamir tried to heal him, but was unable to collect the magic energies. Shamir, undaunted tried again and this time he let loose a spectacular healing spell. Ali feels almost no pain anymore, but he still wanted extra padding, so he went and retreived the leather armor of the killed thief.
